The World From My Window
Hello World!
This beautiful picture of Earth was taken by NASA astronaut and Artemis II Commander Reid Wiseman from the Orion spacecraft’s window after completing the translunar injection burn, a propulsive manoeuvre used to send a spacecraft toward the Moon. 🌒 "With this burn to the moon, we do not leave Earth. We choose it," said Christina Koch, the first woman to journey around the moon and the first astronaut to have one-hour-show, THUNK in Space, dedicated to her. THUNK in Space is a unique collaboration between artist duo D.FOE and THUNK Radio🧑🚀As he marvelled at Earth, Victor Glover, the pilot of Artemis II and the first Black astronaut to travel to deep space, said: "You look amazing, you look beautiful...No matter where you are from or what you look like, we're all one people." 💚 When back on Earth, Christina regularly tunes into D.FOE’s shows. She and her fellow astronauts have been given a pre-recorded version of THUNK in Space to listen to aboard the Artemis II.THUNK in Space has been created to inspire conversation about our planet’s future. Are you feeling uncomfortable?
“Big tech transforms social media from a tool of connection into a weapon of mass behavioural engineering. These platforms are not neutral technologies they’re sophisticated systems designed to exploit our deepest psychological vulnerabilities, they monetise our outrage and hate, amplify our divisions and systematically erode our capacity for nuanced thinking, our capacity for empathy.” MARIA RESSA - CEO and Co-founder of Rappler https://2073.film
Revolutionising the fashion industry
Revolutionising Fashion
Fashion Revolution is the world’s largest Fashion activism campaign and the perfect antidote to London Fashion Week and the many other global fashion events that sustain fast fashion and the overconsumption of fashion.
Carry Somers was inspired to launch Fashion Revolution 10 years ago, following the Rana Plaza factory collapse in Bangladesh. In December 2022 she co-founded League of Artisans, an NGO set up to empower and advocate for skilled craftspeople who work with their hands to make functional or decorative objects linked to their culture, community, region or traditions.
It’s our birthday and we’ll cry if we want to.
As THUNK ends its first year of operation, we are proud to have achieved so much in such little time.
In a world facing escalating environmental and societal challenges, including the looming reality of 2.5ºC temperature rises that far exceed the Paris Agreement targets, the stakes have never been higher. The climate crisis is no longer a distant threat—millions are already living through its catastrophic effects.
While global leaders gamble humanity’s future on unproven technologies and denial, THUNK has taken a different path. Our mission is to engage, inform, and entertain—harnessing creativity and innovation to inspire action and amplify the voices that need to be heard.
In just one year, we’ve produced over 30 podcasts, delivered powerful stories, and curated exceptional DJ mixes 24/7 on THUNK Radio. Our platform is a space for challenging conversations, fresh creative ideas, and cultural connection, uniting a growing audience around the urgent need for change.
But this is only the beginning. To expand our reach, deepen our impact, and continue creating meaningful content, we are seeking additional funding while remaining resolutely independent.
With your support, we can challenge the odds, rewrite the narrative, and build a better future together.
Let’s do something
Pre-loved fashion.
Retrouvé is the vintage clothes boutique retailer that was born over a decade ago when Ginny Burnett began hosting vintage clothes parties.
Ginny’s passion for vintage clothing began when she was a child and today she describes herself as “passionate about the ethical and ecological side of vintage – I think everyone should be aware of their fashion footprint. I believe Retrouvé is the antidote to disposable high-street fashion. Well made and well looked after clothes can last for decades and I love recycling these beautiful pieces.”
A Stitch in Time
Taking waste out of fashion.
WRAP is the NGO committed to ending waste in textiles food and plastics. Harriet Lamb discusses the scale of the crisis in fashion and consider the big picture solutions to move from a linear to a circular economy and fashion’s place within that.
Prior to joining WRAP, Lamb led Ashden, the charity that supports inspiring solutions to climate change. Before that Lamb led International Alert, and prior to that spent 16 years at the helm of Fairtrade in the UK and globally
